(2007.09.21，Taipei) Organized by Bank SinoPac and Taipei Philharmonic Radio Station, the “2007 SinoPac Young Artist Showcase” held a finals concert on 21 October at the ZhongShan Hall and revealed its finalists. This year the competition attracted nearly one hundred participants and is centered around string instruments, falling into four categories: violin, viola, cello, and double-bass. After a 3-phrased competition, except no finalist was qualified in the viola category, the judges choose the top performer from the three other categories, making the three finalists for the last round of competition. The finalists are, violinist, Miss CHANG, Chin-Ting(張景婷), who recently graduated from the Conservatoire national superieur de musique et de danse, CNSMD Paris, and will continue study in Germany; Miss KUNG, Jen-Hsin(孔仁欣), who received admissions from the School of Music from National Taiwan Normal University and Taipei National University of the Arts for cello performance; and Mr. CHANG, Che-Yu(張哲瑜), a student at Tainan National University for the Arts, who won recognition for the double-bass.
A performance conducted by the renowned, Music Director of Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Miss Yip, Wing-Sie(葉詠詩), together with the National Symphony Orchestra opened the concert. The three finalists charmed the audiences with their beautiful music. Miss CHANG, Chin-Ting is rewarded first prize and was voted by the members of the National Orchestra as the most potential young talent. Miss KUNG, Jen-Hsin and Mr. CHANG, Che-Yu each took home the SinoPac award.
